Spiderweb Bark for Halloween

Another fun design to do with the kids! Let an adult heat the white chocolate and the milk chocolate. Pour the white chocolate on parchment paper and smooth it out. Put the melted milk chocolate in a bag and snip the corner. Pipe the chocolate with a dot in the middle of an area and pipe circles around that. Let the kids take a toothpick and draw lines from the center out of each "web." Place m&ms upside down in the web and paint legs on the spiders with black icing. Fun stuff for the entire family!

White chocolate, I used white chocolate bark chunks. (about 6 chopped up)

Milk chocolate, I used a candy bar, because you don't need a lot.

M&Ms for the spider's body.

Black Icing for the spider's legs. They used a very thin tipped paint brush to paint the legs.

Red Velvet Truffles

Cake
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons cocoa
3 tablespoons red food coloring
2 1/4 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon soda
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs. Mix well. Mix cocoa and food coloring in a cup. Add to eggs and sugar. Add vanilla. Sift flour and salt. Add, alternating with buttermilk. Add soda and vinegar. Let foam and FOLD into mixture. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Icing
2~ 8 ounce blocks of cream cheese, room temp
1 lb box powdered sugar (10X)
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Blend cream cheese until smooth. Add sugar and vanilla. Blend well.

Truffles
Crumble cake in a large bowl and add icing, mixing until it is the consistency of fudge. Scoop with a 1 inch cookie scoop or by the teaspoon full. Roll into a ball if using the teaspoon. Place on a sheet of wax paper on a cookie sheet. Freeze for about an hour. Melt white chocolate in a medium bowl (by double boiler or microwave) and coat each red velvet round. Set on wax paper to set. Return to freezer for 5 minutes,  if necessary. Yields about 45, 1 inch truffles.

Easter Egg Bark

We had this candy bark last year at our 1st Annual Adult Easter Egg Hunt, and it was a big hit! I'm making it again this year! It is one of the easiest candies that you can make! Quick and easy! Perfect!

1 bag Colored Mini Marshmallows
1 1/2 cups White Chocolate Chips
Spring Color Sprinkles

Melt the chips and toss in marshmallows. Stir until well combined. Pour into a foil lined pan and cover lightly with sprinkles. Place in a cool spot or refrigerate until hardened. Cut into egg shapes or cut with cookie cutters. Serve!
